Unusually Focused
🎠How to seem interesting even if you're boring
People are similar in more ways than we're different.
And at the very core of our similarities is our concern about and focus on status. That is, our role and level of power, from moment to moment, in whatever situation we're in with whoever in it with.
With your friends, your colleagues, your family... the more status we have in any network of people, the better.
Most of our decisions are based on this very question: If I do this, will it increase or decrease my status?
So then, we can take advantage of this core instinct by giving people the tools to easily signal their status through their association with us - and our products & services.
And that's what I talk about in this short episode, it was inspired by a study that was done with the most famous painting in the world. The results are comical.
I got a lot of these ideas from Elephant in the Brain.

Ryan shares his cut & dry theory behind why so much interest and fascination was birthed around such a simple painting and shares how you can apply that same theory to your social media practices, to develop the same level of interest and "buzz" around yourself and/or your business.
